Kids get help they need while staying in school
Rogers Memorial offers either morning or afternoon sessions at our Milwaukee, Kenosha and Brown Deer locations. The half-day program provides coordinated care in a safe and structured setting, allowing children and teens to remain enrolled in their school for part of the day.
Specialized psychiatric care
Day treatment offered at Rogers Memorial provides a level of in-depth psychiatric care not possible with outpatient providers or available with other day treatment or alternative schools in the area. Each child in our program receives in-depth evaluations by our expert psychiatric team specializing in child and adolescent behavioral health, and treatment plans are individualized to address specific needs.
In addition to our general mental health groups, we have several specialized treatment groups for children who have experienced trauma, children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, and teens with internalizing (depression, anxiety) or externalizing (oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorders) behaviors at our Milwaukee and Brown Deer locations. These groups allow children and teens to understand their unique challenges while working with others who are facing similar situations.
The benefits of day treatment
- Flexible scheduling options allow children and teens to remain connected to their families and schools. Our weekday programs offer morning and afternoon options and specialized treatment groups for specific needs or behaviors.
- Individualized attention assures that each child’s needs are supported through his or her individualized treatment plan and that the concerned adults in their lives have the proper information and tools to support the child at home and at school.
- An experienced, multidisciplinary team of specialists provides a wide range of treatment options to address the various challenges facing each child. Dedicated clinicians, group room leaders and school liaisons work with parents, schools, and other care providers. We help develop a network to support each child as he or she transitions through our program.
- Medication management is available if appropriate. Our full-time, board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists follow the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s stated position that no medication is ever to be used without therapy.
